Saints face Cup trip to Wolves
15/05/2007
Holders St Helens face an awkward encounter with Warrington Wolves in the pick of the Challenge Cup quarter-final matches.
Saints have already recorded a comprehensive 48-12 away win over Paul Cullen's men this season, but coach Daniel Anderson is thankful that his team will have the advantage of the Knowsley Road faithful this time around.
"There is no way we were going to be able to get away from anything but it's good for us to be at home. It's the last chance to get a home tie so it was a big ball to pull out of the bag," he said.
"It isn't far for our opposition to come and I'm sure there will be a lot of people turning out for this."
Elsewhere in the draw Wigan are rewarded for their narrow win over Super League leaders Leeds in the previous round with a home match against Harlequins, while Hull FC will entertain Catalan Dragons.
Bradford Bulls welcome last year's beaten finalists Huddersfield with coach Steve McNamara expecting another tight battle after his side overcame Castleford and Wakefield to make it to the last eight.
"To be at home is a big bonus so we're reasonably happy with it. We've had as tough a draw as anybody at this stage and this will be just as close as the other two," he said.
Challenge Cup quarter-final draw:
Wigan v Harlequins
St Helens v Warrington
Hull FC v Catalans Dragons
Bradford v Huddersfield
Matches to be played weekend 9-10 June.
