Sing signs for Hull
05/06/2006
Matt Sing, the former Australian Test winger, is on the verge of agreeing a two-year deal with Hull.
The 31-year-old has been a prolific scorer in the National Rugby League but his current club North Queensland Cowboys have confirmed he is moving to the engage Super League.
Sing, who has 15 caps for the Kangaroos to his name with the last coming in the 2005 Anzac Test, will become Hull head coach Peter Sharp's first signing at the KC Stadium.
Sharp is clearly confident the back can make an impression in England.
"We've agreed terms, we just need to get the contract signed and back to us," he said.
"Matt is one of the fittest up there in that very tough regime under [North Queensland Cowboys fitness coach] Billy Johnstone.
"If he had been available, he would have been in the Anzac Test team so that's an indication of how highly he's thought of out there."
Formerly of Penrith and Sydney Roosters, Sing will arrive in Hull to replace winger Nathan Blacklock, who is due to return to Australia at the end of the season.
