Under-par St Helens not in crisis insists James Roby
10/04/2008
St Helens hooker James Roby has dismissed suggestions that the Super League giants are in crisis after suffering three defeats in a row.
Having only won one of their last five league matches, Saints now find themselves in the bottom half of the table a position which the five-time Super League champions are not used to.
"The young lads won't have seen anything like this," admitted Roby, one of the rising stars of the game and last year's Man-of-Steel. "The team has got to bounce back from these defeats.
"If we can correct the things in training this week, especially the defence, I don't see why we can't turn this around.
"And the way the League is this year - it's so tight - we only need a few wins on the bounce and we'll be straight back up at the top end of the table. I'm not worrying at all. We'll be fine."
St Helens have struggled in defence this season, and have missed the quartet of Paul Sculthorpe, Nick Fozzard, Keiron Cunningham and Jason Cayless, who have all had spells out injured and have rarely played together.
Roby admitted that the team had missed their experienced forwards, but now that they are returning from injury, he expects his team to shoot up the table.
The will have a chance to get back to winning ways tomorrow night as they face Harlequins at ground Knowsley Road.
