Wakefield prop Adam Watene dies aged 32

13/10/2008

The Wakefield Trinity Wildcats have announced the sudden death of prop Adam Watene.

The circumstances surrounding the 32-year-old's death are described by the club as "sudden and unexpected".

A statement from the club said: "Everyone at the Wildcats' thoughts are with Adam's family, and we ask for their privacy to be respected at this difficult time."

In 2005, Watene helped the Castleford Tigers to gain promotion to the Super League and in 2006 was signed by Brian Noble to the Bradford Bulls but only spent one year at the club before moving to the Wakefield Trinity Wildcats.ADNFCR-8000014-ID-18823671-ADNFCR
