Warriors see off Huddersfield after last-gasp tries
16/03/2008
Two tries in the last four minutes gave Wigan a nail-biting 20-19 win against Huddersfield in Super League at the Galpharm Stadium.
The Giants led 19-8 at one stage thanks to tries from Luke Robinson and Kevin Brown, who also kicked over a drop goal, while Leroy Cudjoe booted over five goals.
But the Warriors mounted a sensational comeback with a try from Darrell Goulding while Andy Coley and George Carmont crashed over late on.
Pat Richards kicked four crucial goals to move Wigan into second place in the table, while the Giants remain in eighth spot.
Elsewhere, Bradford beat Warrington 23-10 at the Grattan Stadium.
The Bulls, who led 14-6 at the break, were led by five goals and a drop goal from Paul Deacon. Paul Sykes, Sam Burgess, and Ben Jeffries crossed the line for the 2005 champions.
The Wolves touched down twice through Paul Johnson and Chris Hicks, while Lee Briers kicked a goal.
The win for the Bulls, who had picked up three wins and three losses this season, sees them move into joint fifth place on the same points as Warrington.
