Wigan rock Hull
26/05/2007
Wigan have beaten Hull 47-16 in Super League after a sensational comeback at the JJB Stadium.
Pat Richards scored three times and Trent Barrett twice as the Warriors got 45 points on the board without reply.
The away side led 16-2 after the first half hour through Lee Radford, Craig Hall and Willie Manu.
But after home fans booed their own team as Manu broke through their rearguard, a Barrett-inspired Wigan set about rectifying the points deficit.
The Australian stand-off crossed the line twice before the opening period had elapsed, heralding a Hull collapse in the second-half.
Richards scored three tries, while Mick Higham and Chris Ashton also went over.
A Gareth Hock interception set up Higham to score, before a Barrett drop goal and a last-minute surge from Richards enabled him to complete his hat-trick and hand Wigan their first win in three games.
