Hull in easy victory over Salford
29/07/2007
Hull defeated Salford 48-26 in their rearranged match at the KC Stadium.
The home team raced into a 26-0 lead during the first quarter of an hour, effectively ending any chance Salford stood of claiming an unexpected victory.
Willie Manu, Craig Hall and Richard Horne twice scored the vital tries for Hull before the travelling team scored three tries of their own either side of half-time.
However four further tries from Matt Sing, Lee Radford, Richard Whiting and two from Craig Hall took Hull's try count to eight and condemned Salford to defeat.
Hull coach Peter Sharp said after the game: "Considering the number of players we have out and the number of players who took the field injured I thought we were solid."
Opposite number Shaun McRae was not so happy, however.
"We're very much a Jekyll and Hyde side at the moment. I'm still making decisions on players. Today I have a different opinion to what I had last week. It's very confusing for me and I'm at a loss to explain it," McRae said.
Salford remain bottom of the table on 13 points, a point off Hull KR and two away from Catalans Dragons.
Hull lie in fourth, four points behind Bradford and eight behind league leaders St Helens.
