Johnson ponders return to Wales
14/07/2007
Former Grand Slam winning coach Scott Johnson could be poised to make a sensational return to Welsh rugby.
Johnson is currently helping John Connolly's Australia side prepare for September's Rugby World Cup, but admitted that he would be tempted by an offer to take up a job in the Welsh capital when his contract expires at the end of the tournament.
Johnson is close friends with Cardiff Blues coach Dai Young and has spoken out once again over his wish to head back to the UK.
"If an opportunity arises [with the Blues] I'd certainly look at it," Johnson told BBC Radio Wales.
"I've got a huge regard for Dai Young and he is someone I will coach with in future, there's no doubt about it."
"I'm contracted with Australia until the World Cup, and then I've got an option to go out and an option to go on
"I miss the UK, I miss having a home base, I miss going to games that are close and coming home. I've made no secret of my desire to get back."
