Moody commits future to Tigers
21/12/2007
England international flanker Lewis Moody has signed a new contract to remain at Guinness Premiership side Leicester Tigers for another two years.
The 29-year-old, who was an integral part of the squad that reached a second World Cup final in four years in October, is a long-standing member of the Tigers' setup.
He has made nearly 200 appearances for the club in more than a decade, having made his debut for the club in August 1996.
And Moody, who is now over the 50-cap barrier for England, said he is delighted to be able to commit his future to the Tigers.
"I am thrilled to have added a further two years to my contract, having been at the club for over ten years now," he said.
"All I wanted to do was to continue wearing the Leicester Tigers shirt and to bring further silverware to the Tigers."
Moody has already won five Premiership titles in his 11 seasons and two back-to-back Heineken Cups.
And Tigers forwards coach Richard Cockerill said he is "delighted" to see Moody continue his distinguished career at Welford Road.
"Lewis is a world-class player and he has been playing consistently well for us," Cockerill added.
