O'Gara misses training
12/02/2007
Ireland star Ronan O'Gara will be forced to miss training this week but his availability for the Six Nations match against England on February 24 is not in doubt.
Head coach Eddie O'Sullivan said O'Gara had picked up a knock on his ankle, although the injury was not serious and his rest period was precautionary rather than the result of "anything more sinister".
"Ronan had an ankle problem [after the France match] but we don't know what happened because he finished the game," O'Sullivan said.
"He must have turned it late on in the match because he has no memory of it.
"It was a little bit sore afterwards so we iced it and he was walking around ok, but then last night at the meal it swelled up quite a bit."
O'Gara scored all of Ireland's points in the 20-17 defeat to France at Croke Park yesterday and is a crucial member of the team as they look to keep their Six Nations campaign on track against England in just under two weeks' time.
Fellow veterans Brian O'Driscoll and Peter Stringer, both of whom missed the France game because of injury, are expected to return for the crunch match as both sides try to keep the pressure on unbeaten France, who play Wales in Paris next.
