Ospreys sorry for 'rowdy' Henson
04/12/2007
Ospreys rugby club have issued an apology to train passengers who complained of 'rowdy' behaviour from Gavin Henson and his friends on Sunday.
The Welsh international, 25, was returning home from London to Cardiff after scoring all his side's points in a 19-8 victory over Harlequins in the EDF Energy Cup.
Henson was with some friends on the train when fellow passengers complained to British Transport police (BTP) about "a group of men
behaving rowdily".
A spokesperson for BTP said four individuals were questioned at Cardiff Central station after disembarking at 21:25 GMT and are continuing to help police with their enquiries. None were arrested or charged.
And today Ospreys issued a public apology to other passengers on the train, saying the matter "is something we are looking into and it will be dealt with internally".
"After playing a crucial part in what proved to be a particularly satisfying victory for the Ospreys on Sunday afternoon, Gavin made the return journey from London via train with friends who had attended the match in support of the Ospreys," a statement from the club read.
"Spirits were high amongst the group given the nature of the victory, and the group apologises for any inconvenience caused to fellow passengers."
Despite the negative press generated by the incident at the weekend, it appears Henson is beginning to return to better times on the pitch after a difficult last two years.
He was recently recalled to the starting lineup for Wales against South Africa last month and is showing signs of the form that catapulted him onto the world stage in the 2005 Six Nations championship.
