Robinson to play final game
13/04/2007
Jason Robinson will play in his last-ever club game for Sale Sharks against Bath on Friday evening.
Robinson, 32, will bring an end to his union club career at Edgeley Park before he retires from the game.
The electric full-back began his career in rugby league with Wigan before joining Sale in 2002. He went on to gain 43 caps for England, scoring 26 tries including one during the 2003 World Cup final.
Success at club level has been a little harder to come by, but last year he lead Sale to the Premiership title, beating Leicester in the play-off final.
"I've enjoyed my time at Sale but the time has come to move on. I want my last game to be at home to say a big thank you to the fans of this great club," said Robinson, who has stated he will continue to play for England up to and during the coming World Cup, if selected.
"I have many special memories of my playing career, playing with and against the best players in both codes, winning trophies with England, Wigan and Sale Sharks.
"It will be an emotional occasion saying goodbye to the Sale supporters."
England under-20 winger Selorm Kuadey will make his premiership debut for Sale on the left wing against a Bath side still in the running for the European Challenge Cup.
Head coach Kingsley Jones said: "We know it will be tough but we are aiming to give Jason a winning send-off."
