Ross joins Saracens
25/04/2007
Scottish fly-half Gordon Ross is set to join Saracens on a two-year deal from next season.
The 28-year-old is currently playing in France for Castres but has expressed a desire to return to the Guinness Premiership after just one season across the Channel.
Ross previously played for Leeds Tykes in the English league, where he is the club's record points scorer, and began his career with hometown club Edinburgh.
"Gordon is a very good signing for us and will add extensive Premiership and international experience to the squad," said Saracens director of rugby Alan Gaffney.
"He's a player we have been interested in for some time and someone who can control the game and get us around the paddock. He also understands the Premiership which is very important."
Ross shared playing time with fellow fly-half Dan Parks during the recent Six Nations championship and is widely known as a kicking stand-off rather than a ball-in-hand type of player.
He will be pushing for a recall to the Scotland side for the upcoming World Cup in France in September.
