Six Nations hopes over for Henson
02/03/2007
Wales and Ospreys centre Gavin Henson has been ruled out of the rest of the Six Nations campaign after being told to rest his injured knee.
Scans revealed damage to ligaments in the back of his knee and while the injury does not require corrective surgery he has been told to rest for at least three weeks.
This means the 25-year-old will be unable to test his form and fitness ahead of Wales' final two Six Nations matches against Italy and England this month and rules him out for selection completely.
Henson has been struggling for Ospreys since he picked up the injury in a match against Sale Sharks in January and his lack of form meant he was excluded from the Wales squad for the opening match of the campaign against Ireland in Cardiff.
The final round of matches in this year's Six Nations will be played on March 17th – a date which comes too soon for Henson to be included.
The latest setback for the Welsh pin-up tempers the happy news that was announced yesterday that girlfriend Charlotte Church is expecting the couple's first child.
