Ulster bottom after Glasgow win
03/11/2007
Glasgow Warriors beat Ulster 25-6 in the Magners League to leave the Irish province bottom of the table after six games of the season.
The 2006 champions have only won one game this term and their poor form continued at Firhill as Dan Parks kicked six penalties to help the home side to victory.
Parks scored four of his penalties in the first half as the Warriors gained reward for their territorial dominance.
David Humphries had a chance to cut the deficit before the break but pushed his attempt at goal wide of the uprights.
The Irish fly-half found his range at the start of the second half and got his side to within six of the Warriors before Andrew Henderson clinched the game-wining score.
The Scottish centre spun out of an attempted tackle in midfield before sprinting clear for the try.
Parks added the conversion and another penalty just before the final whistle to ensure the Warriors took the four points.
Elsewhere, Leinster climbed to third in the table after leaving it late to beat Connaught 29-9 at Donnybrook.
Connaught held a 9-6 lead at half time thanks to two penalties and a drop goal from Tim Donnelly. But Christian Warner added a further three penalties to his two in the first half to put Leinster in front.
Irish centre Gordon D'Arcy then sealed the points for Leinster with two tries in the final ten minutes to put the game beyond Connaught's reach.
