Wales hampered by double injury blow
31/05/2007
Wales coach Gareth Jenkins has been left pondering a front-row injury crisis after props Adam Jones and Jamie Corsi were both ruled out of Saturday's second Test against Australia.
Jones has injured his calf in training ahead of the Brisbane clash and Jenkins will resort to moving Harlequins' Ceri Jones across from his usual position of loose-head to cover for the Ospreys man in only his second international appearance.
"I don't see it as putting pressure on Ceri. I see it as an opportunity for him. He's played tight-head lots of times and he's very comfortable in that position," Jenkins said.
Worcester's front-row specialist Chris Horsman is also being rushed out to the southern hemisphere and, despite only arriving in Australia late on Thursday night, is expected to be among the substitutes at the Suncorp Stadium.
Corsi would have filled a space on the bench but the teenager strained his back during preparations for the match.
Wales are attempting to level the series this weekend. After taking an early 17-0 lead in the first Test in Sydney the tourists dissolved eventually suffering a heartbreaking 29-23 defeat when the hosts scored a dramatic late try.
