Wasps held by Warriors late show
23/09/2007
Wasps were held to a 24-24 draw against Worcester Warriors at Sixways after the home side produced two tries in the final ten minutes.
The Warriors were 24-10 down but bounced back thanks to tries from second-half substitutes Kai Horstmann and Dominic Feaunati, while Shane Drahm calmly slotted home the conversions which gave the Warriors a share of the points.
Marcel Garvey crossed the whitewash after two minutes to give the Warriors the lead but a Pat Barnard try and penalties from Danny Cipriani and Dave Walder gave Wasps a 16-7 advantage at the break.
James Haskell extended their lead before the Warriors fought back in the closing stages.
Harlequins top the Guinness Premiership after beating Leeds 39-15 at the Stoop. Fly-half Chris Malone kicked 14 points and scored a try for Dean Richards' men.
A penalty try and two Malone kicks gave Quins a 13-3 lead at the break but they burst into life in the second period with tries from Tom Guest, Jordan Turner-Hall and Simon Keogh.
Leeds responded with tries by Rhys Oakley and Vili Ma'asi but they were always chasing the game and never looked like snatching a victory.
Leicester maintained their winning start to the season with a 26-16 win over Bath at Welford Road. The match was level at 16-16 with seven minutes remaining but a Matt Smith try helped the Tigers take the points.
Andy Goode scored 16 points with his boot while Johne Murphy scored Leicester's other try. Three Shaun Berne penalties had given Bath a half-time lead but the Tigers proved too strong in the second half.
