All-clear for Dancing On Ice
10/03/2007
Tonight's Dancing On Ice show has been given the go-ahead after being cleared by an investigation into its phone voting procedures.
ITV announced last Monday that it was suspending all phone voting on its shows in order to ensure that its programmes met rigorous guidelines enforced by regulator Icstis.
The check-up on its premium interactive services, performed by auditing giant Deloitte, is being implemented on a show-by-show basis, with phone voting gradually being re-introduced as programmes are cleared.
With Dancing On Ice a big ratings winner for the channel, the show was unsurprisingly prioritised and has now been given a clean bill of health.
The furore over phone voting has been in the headlines recently following a series of weaknesses emerging on a number of terrestrial channels.
On March 1st ITV admitted that it had overcharged voters on the last series of The X Factor to the tune of £200,000. That followed an investigation into voting on the BBC's Saturday Kitchen and Channel 4's Richard and Judy programme.
