Anna Nicole Smith to have Bahaman burial

23/02/2007

Former Playboy playmate Anna Nicole Smith is to be buried in the Bahamas next to her 20-year-old son, a US judge has ruled.

In a bizarre courtroom scene, Judge Larry Seidlin failed to hold back the tears when announcing the buried arrangements. Speaking to the court in Florida, Mr Seidlin said: "I want them to be together."

However the mother of Ms Smith, born Vicki Lynn Hogan, wanted her daughter to be buried in her native Texas.

Ms Smith was found to be "unresponsive" in her Floridian hotel room on February 8th and was later pronounced dead in hospital although it is not yet known what caused her death.

The reality television star, 39, lost her 20-year-old son Daniel in September to an overdose of Zoloft, Lexapro and methadone.

Her five-month-old baby girl Dannielynn Hope Marshall Stern, now at the centre of a paternity battle, was born just three days before the death of Daniel.

The paternity of the late Ms Smith's baby is to be decided by a Californian court.

Ms Smith's partner and lawyer Howard K Stern, whose name is on the birth certificate, claims to be the father alongside former partner Larry Birkhead and Zsa Zsa Gabor's husband Prince Frederic Von Anhalt.

Alex Denk, the bodyguard of Ms Smith, also admitted that he could be the father after a two-year secret relationship.
