Beckham's Desperate appearance dismissed
14/09/2007
Eva Longoria has put paid to rumours that David Beckham will be appearing on the forthcoming series of Desperate Housewives.
The show's glamorous star, who married basketball star Tony Parker in July, said in a television interview that rumours that Beckham might appear alongside Robbie Williams as its first gay couple were nothing but Hollywood tittle-tattle.
"I talked to Victoria [Beckham] the other day. I told her about that rumour and she was laughing. David had a good laugh out of it. They are not coming on the show," she said in an interview on the US show Extra.
The news is probably a relief for true fans of David, who wisely lets his boots do the talking.
It comes amid intense media interest about the Beckhams' efforts to fit into celebrity life in Los Angeles following David's move stateside to play for LA Galaxy.
Victoria has already landed a cameo role in another major US TV series, Ugly Betty. She will play herself making an appearance as a celebrity bridesmaid in a forthcoming episode of the show.
