Celebs 'face BB twist'
30/12/2007
Celebrities taking part in this winter's Big Brother show may get more than they bargained for, a leaked memo suggests.
The Star claims the programme's producers are planning a last-minute switch resulting in celebrities being sent into house after all.
Celebrity Hijack, a revamped version of the reality TV monster, was set to feature celebrities playing with the minds of 12 of Britain's brightest talents by setting them tasks.
Under the changes apparently forced by weaknesses revealed in a test run during the last week they may now be inserted into the house after all.
"Things haven't gone as well as we thought during the guinea pig week and it was looking like it was going to get a bit dull," a show insider told the Star.
"Now things have been changed around a bit
the new plans make it appear that the show will still be called Celebrity Hijack but will increasingly become more like a normal celeb version of Big Brother as it goes along."
Channel 4 had previously said Celebrity Big Brother would be given a fallow year after 2007's series caused a diplomatic incident between Britain and India.
Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty allegedly received racial abuse as part of bullying by other housemates including Jade Goody, prompting widespread anger across India.
Celebrity Hijack begins on January 3rd on C4 before transferring to E4 for the remainder of its run.
