Celebs separated on day one

12/11/2007

This year's I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! started with a bang as the contestants were divided into two teams in which they'll battle for food.

And with Malcolm McLaren leaving the show before the start, the 'Snake Rock' team - comprised of Janice Dickinson, Lynne Franks, Gemma Atkinson and J Brown - were left at an instant disadvantage.

The 'Croc Creek' team - with whom 'Snake Rock' will be competing in Bushtucker Trials - is made up of Rodney Marsh, Anna Ryder-Richardson, Marc Bannerman, John Burton Race and Cerys Matthews.

Janice had embarrassed herself instantly by exclaiming: "Another hottie" when Declan Donnelly walked in, only for the Geordie presenter to explain he wasn't a contestant, before the entrance of J led the former model to cry: "This looks good!"

And Cerys had a terrifying start to her jungle jaunt, after the 'Croc Creek' contestants had to bungee jump out of a helicopter at 1,000 feet.

Hugged by her team-mates afterwards, she said: "That was horrible, it was so horrible. I can't stand, my legs are like jelly. It was the most horrible thing, my legs have gone wobbly."

"I don't ever want to do that ever, ever again," the former Catatonia singer added. "It was the most horrible thing I have ever done, much worse than childbirth. Why would anyone pay to do that?" she asked.

The 'Snake Rock' team kayaked into their camp, with tensions already running high between the ladies as Janice looks to get her claws into former boyband member J.

The new series kicks off on ITV1 at 21:00 GMT tonight.ADNFCR-8000014-ID-18350826-ADNFCR
