Charley booed off BB

28/07/2007

Unpopular housemate Charley was finally evicted last night after an enormous 85.6 per cent of voters backed her exit.

Probably the most disliked contestant since 'Nasty' Nick Bateman graced the screens in 2000, she emerged to a chorus of boos and jeers but remained defiant to the last.

"I've got to hold my head up high man," she said on hearing the news of her eviction, before acknowledging: "They were chanting really angrily."

When it finally came to it the crowd showed her no mercy, but she remained her usual bristly self.

In her eviction interview Charley appeared to confirm her conviction that her loud-mouthed, confrontational personality made the public react so strongly to her. But she said she had no regrets and would not change a thing about her time in the house.

When asked what she planned on doing after leaving the house, she joked: "An anger management course."

Charley makes way for five new contestants, who got a taste of what life might hold for them in the near future as they hid in the crowd before entering after the uproarious eviction.

Ex-public schoolgirl Kara-Louise, kilt-wearing Scot David, stripper Shanessa, 36-year-old virgin Jonty and glamour model Amy entered the 'halfway house' – a separated part of the house which they will stay in until Monday.

The nine main housemates still left on the show – only five of which make up the original contingent – will meet their new halfway housemates individually and choose just two of them to become full housemates in two days' time.
