Dannii tipped for new TV role

Singer Dannii Minogue is soon to star in a new role on television, according to reports.

The Sun claims that the X Factor judge is set to play a part in the spin-off series of Doctor Who, Torchwood.

Reports of Dannii being tipped for an appearance in the spin-off come after Dr Who's Christmas special saw older sister Kylie play sassy waitress Astrid.

On the show, Kylie's character shared a kiss with the Doctor but she was killed off soon after she saved David Tennant's character's life.

John Barrowman, who plays Captain Jack on Torchwood, says Dannii would be a great addition to the series.

He told the paper: "I’d love it if Dannii appeared in Torchwood. She has an edge and I know she’s a fan of the show.”

The Put The Needle On It star is also expected to continue to groom young singing talent on the X Factor next year.

Two of her acts reached the final this year and Leon Jackson has gone on to score the top single on the Christmas singles chart.
