29/02/2008

The first soundtrack album for hit series Heroes is to feature the likes of David Bowie and Bob Dylan, it has been confirmed.

Though the show's second season finished in the US in December, NBC Records have chosen to help fans with the wait for the third series by releasing an exclusive Heroes album.

Classic tracks from Bob Dylan and David Bowie's - Heroes, unsurprisingly - feature while the Jesus and Mary Chain include their first new single in a decade.

And the album also includes new releases from Panic at the Disco, Imogen Heap, Wilco and Brighton Port Authority featuring Iggy Pop.

It was also confirmed by the Hollywood Reporter that NBC will make five music video montage podcasts - featuring tracks from the album - available for free download at Zune and for streaming at MSN.

Weightless by Nada Surf will be the first available, from February 29th.
