Emily slips off Dancing On Ice
11/03/2007
Emmerdale actress Emily Symons was eliminated from the Dancing On Ice competition last night.
The 37-year-old Australian, having stuttered her way through much of the competition but carried on gamely nonetheless, finally succumbed just before the semi-finals stage.
She failed in the skate-off against pop star Duncan James, whose koala spin routine trumped Emily and Daniel's blackpool deckchair.
"I've never felt so confident - it's a shame it's come too late," Symons said after finishing what was to be her last competitive routine.
"I couldn't keep up with the calibre of skaters left."
It's been another good run for Daniel Whiston, Symonds' professional skating partner.
Getting through to the quarters is impressive but doesn't match his achievement last time round, when he won the competition with Gaynor Faye.
Meanwhile Saturday night attention now turns to the Dancing On Ice semi-finals. Rugby player Kyran Bracken and actress Clare Buckfield join James as the competition enters its penultimate stage.
