Former Blue Peter man Tim Vincent swears off Dancing On Ice
12/02/2008
Tim Vincent has vowed to never skate again following his exit from Dancing On Ice.
The TV presenter took to the ice for the last time on Sunday after finding himself in the bottom two, along with athlete Steve Backley.
The judging panel chose to save Backley for the third time in this fifth series of the reality show and Vincent and dance partner Victoria became the latest contestants to leave the programme.
But while former evictees such as Going Live presenter Sarah Greene and How Clean Is Your House? star Aggie Mackenzie pledged to keep skating, despite their exit, Tim told the Mirror newspaper he won't be lacing up his skates in the near future.
"Not until hell freezes over. I am not exaggerating when I say I've been skating every day for three months," he said.
"I've enjoyed myself but was surprised to get through five weeks.
"The way I feel I won't put on skates again."
Tim and Victoria had danced to Love Today by Mika but scored just 12.5 points out of 30.
"Every week has been exciting and a real privilege. All of us have enjoyed it so much," he said after his exit, which hinged on the 35-year-old's inability to complete an elemental spin as part of the routine.
While he denied any plans to continue skating, Tim admitted he had almost worn his multi-coloured dance outfit to the aftershow party following a bet with tennis ace Greg Rusedski.
"The costume department wouldn't let me. Greg even offered £500 to buy it," he claimed.
