Fury at Billie's wedding plans

24/12/2007

Tensions are reported to be high in the final days before Billie Piper weds fellow actor Laurence Fox.

The pair are set to marry in a candlelit ceremony this New Year's Eve but their desire to ban children from the service and reception is said to have gone down "like a lead balloon" within the Fox family.

According to the Mail on Sunday, Laurence's uncle, stage and screen producer Robert Fox, is particularly disappointed after being told his 11-year-old son and nine-year-old daughter would not be able to attend the event.

"Robert is very upset and has made his opinions known. The Fox family are very traditional and think that weddings should be all about having children around," a friend reportedly told the paper.

"We have received certain instructions for the day, one of which is that babies and young children are not allowed at the service."

Adults attending the wedding seem to be set for a boozy affair, with the Mail reporting that enough alcohol has been ordered to last for 48 hours.

Billie's ex-husband, Radio 2 DJ Chris Evans, is said to be helping to organise the celebrations in what must be one of the most impressive platonic friendships.

The wedding is thought to be taking place in a church at Cowdray Park estate in West Sussex on Monday.
