Gemma leaves the jungle

29/11/2007

Gemma Atkinson has become the seventh contestant to leave this year's series of I'm A Celebrity... after spending 18 days in the jungle.

The former Hollyoaks actress cried a triumphant "Yes!" after the result was announced, leaving actor Christopher Biggins, former boyband member Jason 'J' Brown, former model Janice Dickinson and singer Cerys Matthews in the Australian camp.

Talking to presenters Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly afterwards, the 23-year-old said: "I've had enough and I want to see my mum."

She added: "If anything goes wrong you contact your mum don't you? But I couldn't do that. I'm going to run up my phone bill now."

"The whole thing's been great and I've enjoyed every minute of it," she continued. "There's no stress, nothing... but you get used to it and you miss the hustle and bustle."

When the Geordie presenting duo asked Gemma about the arguments that have typified this year's show, she said: "I think it's just a clash of characters, it's weird because it was all the older people rowing. It was quite funny and you knew it was going to explode.

"I think Janice liked to wind people up, but it was kind of in a funny way."

Gemma tipped Christopher Biggins - the bookies' favourite - or 'J' to win the seventh series of the show, which ends on Friday, and said she plans to keep her boyfriend, Wigan Athletic player Marcus Bent, with her "all the time" upon her return to England.ADNFCR-8000014-ID-18374864-ADNFCR
