Goody believes miscarriage was 'God's punishment'
10/07/2007
Former Big Brother contestant Jade Goody has revealed she believed her recent miscarriage was "God's punishment" for something she had done.
Goody was 12 weeks pregnant when she lost the baby she was expecting with her boyfriend Jack Tweed, who also appeared on Big Brother.
In an interview with celebrity magazine Closer, the TV personality said that after this year's Celebrity Big Brother (CBB) race row it was "one thing after another" for her.
She confided to the magazine: "After losing the baby I thought I'd never recover. After the miscarriage I did ask: 'Why is all this happening?' I thought it was God's punishment for something I'd done."
Goody was embroiled in the CBB row after allegations were made regarding racist abuse suffered by the actress Shilpa Shetty.
Following the fallout from the show, Goody saw her perfume range removed from the shelves and sales of her autobiography suspended.
She has also not appeared on TV since, contrasting greatly from her regular appearances before the CBB series.
Goody said she had expected a "tumble" from the height of her celebrity, but that she didn't expect it "to be so bad".
The 26-year-old first appeared on TV in the regular version of Big Brother and chose to make a comeback in the last celebrity version of the reality show.
