Fallen Big Brother star Jade Goody has arrived in India in an attempt to smooth things over after she made allegedly racist remarks on television.

The 25-year-old unwittingly became embroiled in a racism row on Channel 4's Celebrity Big Brother after she failed to get along with Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty.

Their now infamous spats led to Jade describing Shilpa as "Shilpa Poppadom" and she refused to eat Indian food that Shilpa had cooked for her as she claimed it was undercooked.

But it seems that the infamous Essex girl is having no such problems in India, as she has been spotted happily tucking into a plate of masala dosa, the BBC reports.

After emerging into a media scrum she told the BBC: "I'm here on a private visit, that's really all I can say at the moment. But I've been made to feel very welcome so yes, it's been very good so far."

Her dash to the Asian country for damage limitation may come too late to resurrect her career. Just last week Jade was dropped from a comedy programme for Comic Relief as it was felt that she could detract from the intention of viewers donating money to charity.
