Little Britain stalker could face jail

05/05/2008

A 28-year-old woman could be jailed after stalking Little Britain star David Walliams.

Sarah Bartholomew visited the comedian's home, breaking a bail condition to leave the comedian alone.

Appearing at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court for sentencing after stalking Walliams, she admitted visiting the star's Hampstead home.

District judge Ian Baker said the admission was "bizarre" and ordered the woman to undergo psychiatric reports.

Ms Bartholomew has already admitted sending the star emails and love poems and had brought gifts to Walliams's house – just 48 hours after a court ordered her to stay away.

The judge said he could not rule out a prison sentence after seeing the content of the emails.

He added Ms Bartholomew appeared "delusional" and said her actions were "far more serious" than he had originally realised at her first hearing.

The court heard Ms Bartholomew had sent more than 1,000 pages of emails to Mr Walliams, claiming they were in a relationship, and has harassed the star since 2004.

The judge said that after breaking her bail conditions, "all sentencing options remain open".ADNFCR-8000014-ID-18579924-ADNFCR
