Mel B to dance with the stars

30/08/2007

Mel B has signed up to be one of the 12 celebrities taking part in the US show Dancing with the Stars.

Although recent headlines about her have been dominated by her previous relationship with actor Eddie Murphy and her recent marriage, the Spice Girl has forged out a decent career for herself in the States, having already starred in Rent on Broadway.

Her appearance on the show should help her loosen up the limbs ahead of her reunion tour with the Spice Girls later this year.

She is joined on the show by fellow British-born actress Jane Seymour, a perhaps more familiar face for American audiences due to her numerous roles in television mini-series and appearances in films including Wedding Crashers and Live and Let Die.

Other actors taking part in the programme include All My Children star Cameron Mathison, Josie Maran, Jennie Garth and Sabrina Bryan.

Boxing champion "Pretty Boy" Floyd Mayweather, two-time Indianapolis 500 champion Helio Castroneves and Dallas Mavericks NBA basketball team owner Mark Cuban represent the sporting world.

Completing the line-up are Marie Osmond, Albert Reed and Wayne Newton.

Musical performances to accompany the dancing have been guaranteed from big-name stars including the legendary Dolly Parton, Avril Lavigne and Gloria Estefan.

The show begins on Monday September 24th.
