New ITV 4 shows featuring Vinnie Jones and Any McNab announced

17/04/2008

New shows featuring hard-men Andy McNab, Vinnie Jones and Philip Glenister have been announced by ITV 4.

McNabb will front a new show, entitled McNab's Tour of Duty, in which the ex-SAS man will tell the story of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.

The show will use Ministry of Defence footage, video and pictures from US and British troops as well as interviews and reconstructions.

"Whatever you think about the rights and wrongs of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, what our soldiers are doing there is remarkable and is making history," McNab said.

"This series for ITV4 will tell the real stories of real courage and bravery in the theatre of war."

Former footballer and now some-time actor Vinnie Jones will front Vinnie Jones' Toughest Cops, featuring police forces from around the world.

Life of Mars actor Philip Glenister will also narrate Real Prison Breaks, a show looking at escapes from notorious prisons, including Alcatraz and The Katingal Special Security unit.

All three of the shows have been commissioned by ITV commissioning editor Diana Howie.

Controller Dave Fewings said: "These exclusive shows reflect ITV4’s new remit - action packed programming for men. They all explore dynamic subjects, fronted by men who personify the channel's direction."ADNFCR-8000014-ID-18557229-ADNFCR
