Nicole Richie 'confirms pregnancy'

Nicole Richie has reportedly confirmed that she is expecting a baby with her rocker boyfriend.

The US reality TV star ended weeks of speculation about a possible pregnancy after making the confession in an interview with ABC News journalist Diane Sawyer.

Confirming that she is expecting a baby with Good Charlotte singer Joel Madden, Richie told Sawyer: "Yes, I am. We are. I'm almost four months."

In the interview, due to be aired on ABC's Good Morning America show tomorrow, the 25-year-old star also speaks about the prospect of serving jail time.

The daughter of US singer Lionel Richie was handed a four-day jail sentence last week after being found guilty of driving under the influence of drugs.

She was warned by a Los Angeles court that she could be jailed for 12 months if she breaches the terms of her three-year probation.

Referring to her arrest last December, when she was found by police driving the wrong way down an LA motorway, Richie said: "I have a responsibility and it's something that I did wrong. If I could personally apologise to every single person that has lost a loved one from drunk driving I would.

"Unfortunately, I can't, but this is my way of paying my dues and taking responsibility and being an adult," she added.

Richie has until September 28th to serve her four day jail sentence, which will follow the recent spell her Simple Life co-star Paris Hilton spent in prison for driving on a suspended licence.

Meanwhile, entertainment channel E! has revealed that it is dropping the pair's reality show from its line up next year. The final episode of the show will air this weekend.
