Nigella and Myleene share yummy mummy award

15/09/2007

Nigella Lawson and Myleene Klass have been named as the world's yummiest mummies.

A poll of more than 1,000 people gave the celebrity chef and musician turned TV presenter an 18 per cent share of the vote each.

But following on from her disastrous comeback at the MTV video music awards last week and her single Gimme More flopping at 85 in the US charts, Britney Spears was overwhelmingly awarded the title of slummy mummy.

Behind mother-of-two Nigella, 47, and new mum Myleene, 29, in the top five were Hollywood heavyweight Angelina Jolie (15 per cent), English rose Kate Winslet (14 per cent) and Big Brother host Davina McCall (ten per cent).

There was less good news for former popstars Victoria Beckham and Kerry Katona however. Last year's winner Posh Spice slipped to number nine in the list, while only Britney stood in the way of the ex-Atomic Kitten singer being named slummiest mummy.

Sarah Gunn of children's charity CLIC Sargent, which organised today's poll, said: "We ask people what makes a yummy mummy and they tell us it's someone for who kids and family clearly come first, but who also remember that they're confident, sexy and sassy women with their own successful style.

"Nigella and Myleene are clearly all of those things and also someone who real mums – both old and young – can relate to."ADNFCR-8000014-ID-18281494-ADNFCR
