Rodney leaves the jungle

26/11/2007

Rodney Marsh has become the fifth contestant to leave the jungle in this year's I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!

The footballer-turned-pundit was voted off the ITV1 show after 14 days in the camp and said he would "rather chew on a broken light bulb" than stay.

The former Manchester City player told presenters Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly that he had been extremely bored in the Queensland jungle.

"I expected it to be hard but not as harsh. The lack of anything to do... I've got to tell you folks, it is tough," he said.

Outspoken Marsh, who sustained a nasty knee injury last week, was unrepentant about refusing to say goodbye to fellow contestant Lynne Franks after her eviction two days ago.

"I think it's fair to say she did irritate me," he admitted.

"I despise everything she stands for... I acted like a five-year-old kid sometimes," he added, "but what you see is what you get. Am I sorry about that? No I'm not."

However he called former model Janice Dickinson, who has provoked no small amount of ire in the camp, a "great professional".

Marsh began the show in the Croc Creek camp alongside Cerys Matthews and Marc Bannerman and said: "From the first time they met, you could tell there was something between them.

"They just seemed to get on fantastically, they just connected."ADNFCR-8000014-ID-18369255-ADNFCR
