Rowling refuses to rule out more
07/07/2007
Harry Potter author JK Rowling has said she cannot rule out returning to her world of magic later on in life.
The seventh and final instalment of the phenomenally successful Harry Potter franchise is published on July 21st and has already smashed pre-publishing sales records.
Covering the events surrounding Harry Potter's last year at Hogwarts, the story is expected to deal with Harry's final clash with arch-nemesis Voldemort.
At least two people have been confirmed as dying in the book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, and Rowling has already said the book rounds off the septology neatly.
"I think that Harry' story comes to quite a clear end in book seven," she said in an interview on BBC1's Friday Night with Jonathan Ross programme.
"I've always said I wouldn't say never. I can't say I'll never write a book about that world because, what do I know, in ten years time I might want to return to it. But I think it's unlikely," she said.
Rowling has already experimented with magic-related books going beyond the original set of seven Harry Potter novels. Two slim volumes covering magical fauna and a history of the sport of Quidditch brought in £16 million for Comic Relief in 2001.
