Sir Andrew: I'd Do Anything final will be interesting ride

30/05/2008

Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber says it is impossible to choose between the three remaining contestants on I'd Do Anything.

Jessie Buckley, Jodie Prenger and Samantha Barks have made it through to the live final of the BBC1 talent show and will take to the stage on Saturday in a climactic bid to win the role of Nancy in Sir Cameron Mackintosh's Oliver! revival.

But after the shock elimination of Belfast-born Rachel Tucker last week, the show has become too close to call, even for chief judge Sir Andrew.

"It depends entirely on who does what on the night and whether or not one of them really pulls something out of the bag that maybe we haven't seen," he explained.

"They're all three very, very good and very different."

He added: "I think Saturday will be a very interesting ride."

Buckley, 18, Prenger, 28, and 17-year-old Barks will all sing for their future in the live final at 18:00 BST on Saturday before the winner of the series is announced at 20:45.

Speaking to BBC Radio 1's Newsbeat programme, Sir Andrew revealed he is working on a follow-up to his hit The Phantom of the Opera.

"I have got my own new show coming on next year, which is my sequel to the Phantom of the Opera, which I think is going to be called Phantom: Once Upon Another Time," he explained.

"But that will come on in November next year, probably, if everything goes well."ADNFCR-8000014-ID-18616501-ADNFCR
