A new reality TV show which aims to find the best pirate out of 16 contestants will be shown on Sky One in June.

Pirate Master is the latest creation from the team behind The Apprentice and Survivor and has a grand prize of $1 million (£500 million) for the person who can say 'shiver me timbers' in the most believable way.

Contestants will compete in an array of physical and competitive challenges carried out in the heart of the Caribbean and must solves clues and riddles to reach the treasure.

Although the wannabe pirates must work as a team, there is bound to be a great deal of intrigue and suspense as the contestants try to out manoeuvre each other to avoid walking the plank.

Task winners get to live a life of luxury in the captain's cabin while losers must survive below deck in the quest to find the strongest pirate.

The show is hosted by the Australian actor Cameron Daddo and is timed to coincide with the release of the third instalment of Pirates of the Caribbean, when the world will be at the height of pirate fever.

Sky One will begin broadcasting the show on June 10th at 20:00 BST.
