Murray and Huber into mixed doubles final
03/09/2008
Jamie Murray and his partner Liezel Huber have reached the final of the mixed doubles at the US Open after a straight sets victory in their semi-final match.
The Briton, who won the Wimbledon mixed doubles title alongside current singles world number two Jelena Jankovic, and Huber, who is the top-ranked women's doubles player, eased past Americans Jill Craybas and Eric Butorac 6-3 6-4.
Murray and Butorac were partners in the men's doubles until they split earlier this year, and the two remain friends off court.
However, it was the Anglo-American pair that emerged victorious against the home favourites at Flushing Meadows to make the final.
There, they will play fifth seeds Cara Black and Leander Paes, who beat Nadia Petrova and Jonas Bjorkman 6-4 6-4.
