Murray faces Nadal Olympics quarter-final
07/08/2008
Andy Murray will have to overcome Rafael Nadal in the last eight if he is to win a medal in Beijing after the Olympics tennis draw was made.
The British number one, who won the Cincinnati Masters last week, will begin his Games medal bid against Lu Yen-hsun of Taipei.
Nadal has beaten Murray in the pair's last five matches, including en route to his Wimbledon title last month.
The Spaniard will play Italy's Potito Starace in the first round.
If Murray is able to beat probable opponent Nadal at the sixth time of asking he is likely to play Novak Djokovic in the semis and Roger Federer in the final.
Swiss star Federer, still ranked number one in the world, begins against Russia's Dimitry Tursonov.
On the women's side of the draw Serbia duo Ana Ivanovic and Jelena Jankovic the world's top two players have been drawn against Mariya Koryttseva of Ukraine and Zimbabwean Cara Black respectively.
And in the doubles competition Murray and his older brother Jamie will play top doubles player Daniel Nestor and Frederick Niemeyer of Canada.
