Stunning Murray beats Nadal to reach US Open final
08/09/2008
Andy Murray is through to the final of the US Open after a scintillating four-set victory over world number one Rafael Nadal.
Murray, who was two sets up before a rain delay forced the players to resume the following day, beat Nadal 6-2 7-6 (7-5) 4-6 6-4.
The British number one produced some of the best tennis of his life as he bounced back from dropping a set and being a break down in the fourth to beat Spain's Nadal for the first time.
The 21-year-old plays Roger Federer in today's final bidding to become the first British man to win a grand slam for more than seven decades.
Former world number one Federer is gunning for his fifth straight title at Flushing Meadows.
