Pacific Restaurant, Manchester

Pacific Restaurant
The Pacific restaurant is one of the most well recognised of the growing list of Chinese restaurants in Manchester’s Chinatown. Offering alternatives to commonplace Cantonese cuisine, the restaurant boasts two dining areas dedicated to both Thai and Chinese cuisine. Each section is headed up by top chefs from that country, which is why we are not surprised the restaurant is a big favourite in the Chinese community as well as with business-types.

What with the amazing atmosphere, excellent service and fantastic cuisine you're sure to book a regular table.

   Great food by jayne

Went there mid-week, the food was lovely, have been in various restraunts around china town, but Pacific was far much better that the others, i would highly reccomend it, and will defently be visiting again.

Best chinese in manchester by A Favourite

The dim sum are creative masterpieces - I usually just order lots of them instead of starter and main. It's amazing for veggies (they use quorn amongst other things) which is really rare.

   awful dining experience by Patricia

We visited the Chinese part of the Pacific last week. We ordered two starters and two main courses - what followed next was a farce. Two starters and one main course were served at the same time whilst the second main course arrived with a 40 minute delay. When we approached the waitresses, they replied to us in a very snappy, patronising and impolite way, trying to make out it was our fault (not sure what the misunderstanding is if two starters and two main courses are ordered). There was no attempt on their behalf to try and change our experience, quite contrarily - all staff remained impolite and unappologetic. Throughout this experience it was difficult to catch the waitresses' eyes. The food wasn't interesting either - the choice is very limited and the tastes were bland. This was an awful dining experience and I would not recommand this place. I would recommand the Yang Sing in Manchester which has repeatedly provided good food in a lovely environment.

   Terrible experience by Paul McCormick

Terrible just had lunch at the thai section. Very little choice and the food not replenished as it ran out. The staff were more interested in getting the place ready for the evening session. Wont be visiting this establishment again

Misleading info on website by Julia Kay

If you look on the restaurant's website under special offers, it says (quote):"Enjoy a 30% discount off our à la carte menu during the hours of 12 - 5pm. Terms & Conditions apply, contact us for more information." so I contacted them and the person on the phone, whose English was not very good, confirmed that this applied to the a la carte menu. So off the four of us went, ordered a fantastic meal thinking we would be making big savings, only to be told at the end that the discount applied to Dim Sum and nothing else. It spoiled what would have been a great meal. Not only that, I think it's really misleading so I'm going to give it a low rating.

love the pacific by Nigel staley

I love this restaurant! It is the coolest Chinese restaurant in Manchester bar none!nThere's fusion cuisine and confusion cuisine but these guys really know their stuff. So sick of idiot, ill-trained chefs jumping on and ruining classic, timeless dishes. But here is nothing to fear here. Sublime! Magnificent! Historic, as Winner would say.
