The name Zaika translates quite literally as "Sense of Taste" and this is the ethos behind the innovative menu with an emphasis on refined yet creative Indian cuisine. The menu incorporates both traditional classic flavours and original dishes that apply eastern flavours with a western twist. The main restaurant provides comfortable seating for 180 diners across two floors each floor having its own bar facility. There is external seating to the front forecourt for 60. Zaika has a VIP dining room which provides luxurious surroundings and can cater for up to 20 guests.. Zaika is run by a highly skilled team whose main priority is serving their diners with revolutionary fusion Indian cuisine supported by excellent customer service. Steven Bardsley a Manchester/Northwest property investor is a Director of Zaika and plans to expand the venture by opening another three Zaika branches by the end of 2010 premises having already been acquired to do so. Bob Hoque Director/General Manager originally from Bangladesh has acquired his love of cooking and attentive service over the past 37 years in the restaurant/bar and hospitality industry. His passion for food is well conversant in indian cooking and his secret spices formulas are to be used in the cooking of many Zaika dishes Zaika is located at the base of Great Northern Tower which overlooks Great Northern Square which fronts both Deansgate and Peter Street. Zaika's immediate neighbours are Taps Bar and Epernay Champagne Bar with their near neighbour being Manchester 235 Casino. |

Enjoyable visit by Anon
I was quite impressed with my visit to Zaika. The food was very tasty, with plenty of flavour and presented elegantly. As a student, I cannot afford to visit often, but it is still reasonably good value for money (our bill came to £30 for two, excluding drinks). We were kindly greeted and felt welcome. Lovely atmosphere and decoration. Would recommend.
