 Situated in the heart of the Northern Quarter, the English Lounge is - as the name suggests - the most 'English' of venues with leather sofas, bookshelves, prints on the walls and lots of dark wood setting the tone. It spreads over two floors with the upstairs lighter and brighter with a cream and aubergine colour scheme. Food is served from noon until 9.30pm every day, a well-priced selection of British dishes with international flavours. A good selection of wines and cask ales too. We have been to the english lounge many times and seen it change hands many times over the years. All I can say is that now is the best time of all, as the sevice and menu has improved no end.
