Family Freindly by ernie fisher
Excellent food with a relaxed and well informed staff offering great service, they even update you with expected time for the next items, while clearing previous course. Also some items on the menu not seen in other venues.
Don't bother- there are far better places!! by Disgruntled diner
16.12.2010 we visited the restaurant last weekend as a party of 17 having booked the table over two months prior. first impressions were very good of a very busy and contemporary bar/restaurant with comfy places to wait whilst the tables were prepared. However- Be Warned! after arriving on time at the required 6.30 for our table we were "guaranteed to sit down in 15 mins" and given our buzzer. however, the reality of the situation was they were far too busy for the number of bookings let alone the numbers of apparant walk ins. as a party we waited patiently for over 2 hours conscious we'd struggle to get in anywhere else. we were met with rude, obnoxious and arrogant waiters who couldn't care less about us. speaking to the manager we weren't even offered an apology for our troubles. the disregard for customer satisfaction obviously stems from senior management! i have never been treated in such a discourteous manner. i would never consider returning to this restaurant who, after making such a catalogue of mistakes, offered no recompense whatsoever. Avoid this place at all costs. Very disappointing indeed.
Always craving by mous
Theres not a time where i dont crave akbars the food is very good as is the service, the people are always friendly and you can go back and eat the same dish time after time without getting tired. one downside is that sometimes the service can be slow.
Ok but nothing special by AA
Food was Ok but nothing special, certainly wont be going again. not worth the long wait.
Good food but always feel rushed! by sabs
Akbar's food is always quite good, but whenever i go there i feel rushed as waiters make it quite obvious that they want you gone as soon as you have finished your food! thats not very classy for a restaurant. overall a good restaurant.

One of the best services i have yet to see, fantastic food, the atmosphere has to be one of the best i've been to!
Nice surroundings by LKC
As far as curries go, the quality was very good, fresh ingrediants and nice blend of flavours. The place is very busy and popular too. The most memorable feature was the decor of the restaurant, very modern and tasteful and the huge family size garlic naan you can order. Its not the best tasting naan you can get but the size definately makes up for it. I would go again, but its more for entertaining friends with asthetic presentations surrounded by fellow upmarket diners.
same difference by angus

Akbars rules by Shelia
Fanstastic food, fantastic service, and exactly the atmosphere you'd want before hitting the bars in the area at the weekend. Alway order the naan!
dissapointing by mike
akbars. i have been here on a few occasions, it is ok and food is nice. make sure when bill arrives that waiters come back with change as on 2 ocassions waiters have tried to take £10 too much
I agree by David Pearce
Couldn't agree more with your review of Akbars. Excellent food, excellent service and very reasonable prices. A welcome addition to the Indian Restaurant scene.
