3/103/103/10 There is much much better in Manchester by Thomas

Having just sampled the restaurant, I can honestly say there is much much better in town. Maybe my expectations were too high. However, having a name like Michael Caines over the door, one would have thought you would be in for a super find dining experience. Luckily, as with any new restaurant, I tested it by having lunch here. Firstly the service. Not brilliant. When I go to what is classed as a fine dining restaurant, I expect 1st class service . . . they need a lot of training!!. The food; I started with mackerel, other than finding a bone in there I would say not too bad a dish. Presentation of the dish was lovely; the taste test fared well, all in all not too bad. For main I had roasted hake. I am really sorry to have to say this but so far away from fine food I was astonished. A small square of roasted hake which I believe was over cooked. This come with a foam and sauce all in all very very bland dish had no taste (very little). The worst for me was the presentation, and what I can only, and sorry to say looked like worms on my plate. Immediately put me off the dish, had no reason for being there whatever it was and had zero taste. For desert, I opted for a selection of local cheeses. Again, presentation was extremely poor. If I was to tell you three not very well presented triangles of cheese a spoon of relish on the side, three crackers and three grapes, you probably wouldn’t believe me. Personally I thought it was a joke. Did it leave me thinking I would love to go back and have dinner there . . . NO. There are far nicer fine restaurants in Manchester at half the price that offer better taste, better presentation and better service. Very disappointed.

5/105/105/105/105/10 Disappointing by ness

Food was nice (not fabulous) service was good (not excellent)restaurant dark and music too loud, doesn't set the scene for fine dining. We won't be going back and I wouldn't recommend!

My husband I had a wonderful meal here last Saturday night. The food was wonderful as was the service and suggestions from the manager Charles. I have to say Charles was one of the most helpful and delightful Maitre D's I have ever had the pleasure to meet. We are looking forward to going back when in Manchester again. We spent over 3 hours in this restaurant enjoying this wonderful experience.
