Whilst everything else may be changing in Manchester, this pub remains the same. Situated just by the Bridgewater Hall the Britons Protection remains firmly rooted in the past. The tiled murals in the corridors pay tribute to those who fell in the Peterloo Massacre of 1819. Beautiful period bar gives way to several rooms at the rear of the pub. Diverse clientele. Excellent choice for whisky drinkers. Small beer garden. Though surrounded by the towers of new Manchester, this pub still represents the very best of old Manchester.
